The beach of Marinella does not in fact owe its name to the famous song but to a hotel which overlooked the beach in the 1970’s.

Already undermined by the waves, the onslaught of the spring and neap tides of 1973 and 1975 were too much for it. It was demolished in 1977 when the construction of dykes and jetties gave the beach its current appearance.

The long beach of Marinella, considered to be the most cosmopolitan in Anglet, attracts an extremely varied crowd and serves as the ideal meeting point for families, children and surfers of all levels.

The beach benefits from lifeguards from mid-June to mid-September.
