Between slow motion and fast forward

The beach of La Barre, situated to the north of Anglet, adjoins the estuary of the Adour and offers the spectacle of boats and ships of all kinds.

Tucked in between two long piers, it is the smallest beach in Anglet but also the most tranquil.

The beach benefits from lifeguards from the end of May to the end of August.

The blockhouses, a flash-back to the Occupation period, have since been transformed into terraces to add further pleasure for a totally peaceful promenade.

Alongside the beach, a skating rink and lakes give the place a truly unique flavour, especially with the environmental developments implemented since 2007, with in particular the Skate Park backing on to the magnificent Izadia Nature Reserve.
