A bucolic interval
No two ways about it, today
it’s the country!
Direction the
Mountain Road with on leaving
Saint-Pierre d'Irube the superb viewpoint of
Elorrimendi with its spectacular panoramic view over the
Pyrenees.
That already takes you on to
Hasparren, the
city of Oaks, a little town with its
steep, picturesque streets lined with
old Basque farmhouses.
Saint-Martin d'Arbéroue lies just ahead. Can you resist the temptation of the waterfalls in the
caves of Isturitz and
Oxocelhaya?
Take time out to stroll around
Clairence, a
fortified town built in the Navarre in the 14th century, one of the
most beautiful villages of France, before spending a few moments of contemplation in the
Belloc Abbey amidst the Benedictine monks.
Admire the perspective along the banks of the
Adour river at
Urcuit and
Lahonce and don’t miss the
Cross of Mouguerre before coming to the end of the last reel.
