Based in Anglet, Adixkideak (Basque for "friends") is a men's choir founded in October 1972 by a handful of singers keen to share their passion for Basque song. To date, the group has an average of 25 singers, most of whom have remained loyal to the group since the beginning of the adventure.
Adixkideak is dedicated to popular a capella concerts. With an eclectic repertoire - both secular and sacred - it's an opportunity to discover a musical field that's highly distinctive and particular to Basque culture.
The vocal ensemble is directed by Frédéric Wojtyniak, who enables Adixkideak to offer a richly illustrated program of low-voice singing, served by a balanced, particularly sonorous choir, and enhanced by a variety of soloists.
