Anglet is the first beach on the Basque Coast. They stretch for 4.5 km along an unspoilt coastline, from the arm of the Adour to the tip of Cap Saint-Martin, on which stands the Biarritz lighthouse.
The diversity of its 11 beaches gives each a unique identity to satisfy all visitors. A variety of facilities are available, offering a wide range of activities and leisure activities: surf schools, beach clubs, beach volleyball courts, Golf de Chiberta, Atlanthal thalassotherapy center, beach huts, seaside restaurants and shops.
The town of Anglet organizes a number of ocean-focused events, including the International Surf Film Festival, the Contemporary Art Biennial and the Nocturnes de la Chambre d’Amour concerts. Anglet is often referred to as a “little French California“, with a fragrance in the air similar to Venice Beach or Malibu.
Walkers and joggers can enjoy the Promenade Littorale and the many green spaces lining the beaches. Some beaches are bordered by rocky dykes, allowing you to observe the coastline from a different angle.
