Deeply rooted in Basque culture, carnival (ihauteria) celebrates the end of winter.
This ritual, held at the Chambre d?Amour, is a joyous, lively spectacle.

Spring is just around the corner. Everywhere in the Basque Country, a new cycle of bear and nature is celebrated.
The sound of "joaldunak" and the rhythm of dance echo through the streets of Anglet, right up to the judgement of Zan Pantzar, where the evils of the past year are handed over to the flames.
Disguised and gathered in a circle, we leave winter behind and welcome spring, alongside children learning the Basque language.

Ihauteri, neguaren bukaeraren islada, udaberria hor dugu ate joka! Hartzaren eta naturaren ziklo berria ospatzen da Euskal Herriko hainbat xokotan. Joaldunen soinuarekin, dantzarien dantzekin, Angeluko karriketan Zanpantzarren auzia beteko da non pasa den urteko epaiketak erreko diren. Zirtzilez jantzirik eta angeluarren inguraturik, Urtarrilaren 31a negua alde batera utziko dugu eta udaberriari ongi etorria eginen diogu euskara ikasten duten hainbat haurrez inguraturik.
