For years, political language has been deteriorating, not only in France, but all over the world. Insidiously, language dating back to the 1930s is infiltrating our language and gradually blocking normal democratic debate. Where does this phenomenon come from, and how does it express itself?

Olivier Mannoni, a literary translator of German, has published two books on this subject: "Traduire Hitler" and "Coulée brune : comment le fascisme inonde notre langue" (2022 and 2024, éditions Héloïse d?Ormesson). His next book, "Retour aux souches. Anatomie d?une bouffonnerie politique" will be published in March 2026.

As part of a series of philosophy lectures organized by philosophy professor Christophe Lamoure.
