"Salma, mon amour" Ahmed El Attar à ANGLET

The story takes place in the home of an extremely wealthy Egyptian family. Salma is a young woman in her twenties who feels out of step with her loved ones. Her family’s daily life is turned upside down following the events of October 7, 2023.
While her brother’s marriage to an American woman was supposed to seal an alliance between two powerful families, the instability sweeping the region is shaking up certainties, ambitions, and power dynamics within the family circle.
A leading figure in contemporary Arab theater, Ahmed El Attar creates challenging works that have been acclaimed on Europe’s greatest stages. With tense and breathless writing, Ahmed El Attar explores the turmoil of those who thought they could remain on the sidelines of history. Amid domestic violence, the Palestinian genocide, and geopolitical upheavals, *Salma, My Love* asks what might come after the horror.
