At the mouth of the Adour, Izadia ecological park invites you on a discovery of the biodiversity in the wetlands areas. This 14-hectare trail, just as beautiful as it is discrete, allows you to observe the river circulation in 10 stages between the ocean and the northern lake.
At the entrance to the park, the Centre for the Environment has a fun-filled and educational display which presents the ecological workings of the coastline.
Izadia park allows visitors to understand the balance between natural ecosystems, fauna and flora from the beach, to the birds including the cork oak forest. Do you like to ask questions along the way ? Then reserve a guide. Do you prefer to go at your own pace? Opt for the audio-guide.
Izadia is home to a quite remarkable flora which allowed to it be classified as a Natura 2000 Adour site in February 2012.
