Experience the adrenalin of an ice hockey match in Anglet!
In the Basque Country, there’s rugby and pelota, but also ice hockey! In Anglet, facing the ocean, the Patinoire de La Barre has been the playground of Anglet Hormadi Pays Basque since 1969. This emblematic, world-renowned club was born at the same time as the rink.
At the time, the players played under the name Anglet Olympique, and played their first match on December 18, 1969 against Bordeaux. It wasn’t until 1970 that the club changed its name to Anglet Hormadi*.
Over the decades, Anglet Hormadi Pays Basque have risen through the ranks of French field hockey, joining the elite in 1997. In 2001, they became runners-up in the French Elite, marking a turning point in the club’s history.
Today, since 2018, they proudly maintain their position at the highest level of the Magnus League.
