Lecture given by Christophe Lamoure, as part of his series of philosophy lectures.

On the one hand, social success, pleasure-seeking and a certain cynicism seem to characterize part of the preferred lifestyle in our societies. On the other hand, there is a certain disdain, even contempt, for morality, which is seen as a bygone age, synonymous with repression, guilt and rigidity. How should we think about moral concern today? Does it express an obsolete approach, or is it the manifestation of an unsurpassable requirement, essential to the fulfillment of every human being?

Christophe Lamoure is a professor of philosophy.
