In collaboration with author Victor Jestin, the 3B theater company has adapted his novel *The Dancing Man* for the stage. With a talented cast consisting of two actors and a dancer—who, on their own, bring to life a multitude of characters—the play attempts to decipher the world in which we live, a world undergoing profound change.

It is the story of Arthur, from age 17 to 39. He lives in a small town on the banks of the Loire River. Uncomfortable in social situations, he organizes his life around La Plage, a general-interest nightclub where he spends more and more time, to the point of abandoning his entire social life, his job, his family, and his friends, until his personality dissolves. Feeling increasingly alone even while surrounded by people, Arthur seems out of step. So, amid the hubbub of the crowd, we strain to hear his story. Arthur is a true enigma.
