On the agenda for this event is the history of Anglet’s port, presented by Jean Vidal, and the history of the sulfur port, presented by Michel Rapin.

Lazaret, the royal glassworks, the cork factory, gunpowder works, and gas plant—all brought to life through a 3D reconstruction—this event aims to revive the memory of a little-known heritage that was nonetheless pivotal in Anglet’s history.

In addition, a second presentation will focus on the sulfur port, an infrastructure directly linked to the Lacq gas operation. And we will learn that despite the near-complete shutdown of the gas field in 2013, operations at the sulfur port continue, demonstrating the adaptability of this industrial site.

As part of European Heritage Days.
