Step 1 :
From Montbrun to Lake Chiberta: From the car park, follow the Montbrun greenway towards Chiberta, continuing straight ahead (ignoring any side paths). Exit the woods at a small roundabout: go around the roundabout on the right (pedestrian crossing) and follow the cycle lane opposite, along the edge of Avenue de Chiberta. At the end, there is an interesting stop in the small park at Lake Chiberta (Lichtenberger Garden).Step 2 :
The ocean fringe of Chiberta: Leave the small garden at Lake Chiberta on the right, on the cycle path along Avenue du Lac. After the tennis club, the cycle path turns left onto Avenue Marcel Chassigny, which runs between villas. This leads to Boulevard des Plages: after crossing carefully (protected crossing), you can reach Dunes beach opposite (1.2 km there and back), or continue your ride along the boulevard to the left (cycle path). Pass the entrance to the golf course and a few modern villas. At the Madrague bus stop (75 m before a roundabout), leave the avenue in front of Villa Prinkipo (Oriental style) and turn left onto Avenue des Crêtes, towards ‘VVF’ and ‘Golf de l'Impératrice’ (double pedestrian crossing).Step 3 :
Villas and Impératrice golf course: After leaving Boulevard des Plages, go up Avenue des Crêtes on the left (cycle path). After 250 m, at the first crossroads, turn right into Allée de l'Impératrice and pass the entrance to the golf course of the same name (no cycle path). Go up this slightly sloping street lined with recent villas. At the T-junction, continue left onto Promenade des Sables and follow it for 100 m, keeping to the right (cross). At the mini roundabout, turn left onto Rue de Chisdits.Step 4 :
Return to Montbrun: At the end of Rue de Chisdits, cross an alley (Promenade de La Barre) and follow a cycle path to the left. Shortly afterwards, turn right onto Route du Petit Palais. Pass the equestrian centre and return to the Pignada forest. At the small car park, continue right on the asphalted Chemin de Porte. This leads to Avenue de Montbrun, which you follow to the left to return to the car park. - The black locust tree (Nature site)
Under the canopy of slender maritime pines, which make up most of the Pignada forest, another tree species occupies the lower layer of the forest. Here, the black locust tree benefits from the presence of light and, in spring, bears clusters of fragrant, honey-producing white flowers.
- Chiberta Golf Course (Nature site)
Two golf courses can be found along the walk, both enjoying the tranquillity of the surroundings and the sea air. The Chiberta course, created in 1927, offers 18 holes between the Pignada forest and the ocean beaches.
- The coat of arms of Anglet (Toponymy)
On the street signs in Anglet, take a curious look at the town's coat of arms. The motto is ‘Ma é Pignada per m'ayda’ (the sea and the pine forest to help me).
